Maxima Receives the Golden Award for Responsible Business
On June 14, Maxima Latvija for the second time received the golden award at the Sustainability Index award ceremony. The golden award is presented to enterprises for responsible corporate activities focused on sustainable environment, employees, and society as a whole. Maxima Latvia has previously received both the silver and the bronze category title, which shows the continuous development of the company.
Golden award of the Sustainability Index is awarded to enterprises that are transparent in their activities and make a significant contribution to the long-term prosperity and growth of Latvia. The corporate responsibility strategy of these companies includes clear and measurable goals.
This is the ninth year of Sustainability Index. It is a strategic management tool based on an internationally recognized methodology that helps companies to assess the sustainability of their activities and the level of corporate responsibility in five areas: strategy, market relations, working environment, environment, and society. Sustainability Index is organized by Institute for Corporate Sustainability and Responsibility in cooperation with the Free Trade Union Confederation of Latvia and the Employers’ Confederation of Latvia.
