Maxima Latvija Now Led by Tomas Rupšys

December 10, 2020

From December 8th, Tomas Rupšys will become the CEO and sole Board Member of Maxima Latvija. At the same time, he will join the Maxima Grupė UAB Board of Directors. He replaces Viktors Troicins, who decided to step down in a mutual decision with the company.

Prior to joining Maxima Latvija, Rupšys headed Estonian operations for Euroapotheca, a Vilniaus prekyba Group company. Before that, he managed Lenus Trading Ltd., a limited company in the United Kingdom which operates a franchised network of grocery stores.

“I am pleased to welcome Tomas Rupšys into the Maxima Group. He has extensive experience in the retail sector in different European markets. I am convinced that, under Rupšys’ leadership, Maxima Latvija will achieve excellent results in an increasingly dynamic market situation and fulfil our clients’ expectations. I also want to thank Viktors Troicins, who took over leadership of Maxima Latvija at the start of the pandemic, and who was successful in overcoming the challenges of this difficult period,” explains Mantas Kuncaitis, Maxima Grupė CEO and Chairman of the Board.

Viktors Troicins worked for Maxima Latvija from 2016, first as a Board Member and Director of Commerce, before becoming CEO and the sole Board Member.

“I began managing Maxima Latvija at an extremely challenging time for the business, and I rate our team’s work in solving this complicated situation very highly. I am certain that the initiatives we have begun in modernising, digitalising and increasing efficiency will bring future benefits to both Maxima Latvija’s customers and its employees,” adds Viktors Troicins.

“I am pleased to be able to lead Maxima Latvija, and I appreciate the trust shown in me. My immediate priority is the safety and needs of our clients and employees during this difficult pandemic. In the longer term, we must pay even more attention to increasing efficiency, simplifying operations and decision-making, and, most importantly, strengthening a customer-oriented approach throughout the business,” says Rupšys.
