Maxima Latvija Launches Communications Campaign on Vaccination

May 12, 2021

As vaccination against Covid-19 has begun across all country and vaccines are available for adults at any age, Maxima Latvija as the largest private employer in Latvia with more than 7,700 employees and a wide range of communication channels, is launching an information campaign on Covid-19 vaccination to explain and encourage employees and society as such to be vaccinated against Covid-19. The campaign is organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Latvia, The Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (CDPC) of Latvia and experts. Its main goal is to encourage even more employees and residents to volunteer for vaccination, in order to protect themselves, their family members and others around.

"Our priority is the safety of our employees and customers. Retail workers are front-line workers who act on a daily basis to ensure the uninterrupted availability of basic necessities. At Maxima Latvija, there are more than 7,700 employees who provide everyday necessities to more than 250,000 people throughout Latvia. It is a great pleasure that many of our colleagues have already been vaccinated or plan to do so in the near future. Aware of Maxima's ability to reach a very wide audience throughout Latvia, we help state services to reach and encourage even more people by sharing information about vaccination and the steps to be taken so that people can organize the vaccine at a time and place convenient for them all across Latvia by registering at www.manavakcina.lv or by calling 8989, ” says Tomas Rupšys, CEO of Maxima Latvija.

Within the framework of this initiative, information on vaccination will be widely available in the communication channels of Maxima Latvija, so that every employee, regardless of position and specific workplace throughout Latvia, will receive science and fact-based answers to their questions. Educational seminars for employees will be attended by Juta Kroiča, Prof.Dr.med. (Riga Stradiņš University, Head of the Department of Biology and Microbiology), Ainis Dzalbe (therapist and general practitioner), as well as others. To inspire employees, Maxima colleagues will share stories highlighting why they have already been vaccinated and plan to do so in the near future.

We will also contact our customers throughout Latvia, providing information on the effectiveness of vaccination in various channels, such as social media, stores, etc.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic in Latvia a year ago, investing more than 1 million euros, Maxima Latvija has implemented more than 40 initiatives to limit the spread of the Covid-19 virus, so that not only customers but also Maxima Latvija employees are safe in stores.
