The association “Latvian Red Cross” received more than five tonnes, or 12 000 dog and cat meals, for pets of the low-income people within the framework of the “Pet Days” campaign. This was achieved with the support of “Maxima” customers and SIA ”Mars Latvia”.

Thank you to “Maxima Latvija” and SIA “Mars Latvia”, who have found an opportunity to share with others by organising such campaigns, donating both funds and time, taking care of vulnerable groups of population. Based on the amount of the donated meals, we will be able to help a lot of people and their pets.”

The “Pet Day” campaign is another support mechanism to help the people affected by the crisis and also to ease the day-to-day spending on animal food. By inviting buyers to donate dog and cat food, the “Latvian Red Cross”, in cooperation with “Maxima Latvija” and animal food wholesaler “Mars Latvia”, is organising the campaign “Pet Days” for the second time this year. From 24 September to 7 October, for each kilogram of “Whiskas”, “Sheba”, “Perfect Fit”, “Pedigree” or “Cesar” food purchased, 100 grams were donated to support pets of the low-income people. The greatest response from customers was observed in “Maxima” stores in Riga, while at the end of the campaign more than 5 tonnes, or 12,000 meals for pets, were donated.
