Maxima Announced as Latvia’s Best Value For Money Retailer

May 28, 2021

International Certification Association ICERTIAS has awarded Maxima a Best Buy Award for the best price to quality ratio. This top-level global award, awarded for the second time in a row, confirms that, according to Latvians, Maxima offers high-quality products at low prices.

“We are honored to receive this high rating from our customers, confirming that our goal to deliver high quality products at low prices has been highly appreciated. This top award once again serves as confirmation that caring for peoples’ well-being and the clever and reasonable use of money achieved through our partnerships with local producers and global brands means a lot to our customers. It certainly motivates us to continue the path we have chosen, particularly during COVID-19 when consumers are looking for low prices and high quality, which is exactly what the Best Buy Award confirms,” explains Edvīns Lakstīgala, Director of Procurement at Maxima Latvija.

“We want to congratulate Maxima and the entire team on the excellent results achieved in the independent primary market research - Best Buy Award 2021/2022.  Being the first choice for most consumers is certainly a great honor. It shows that Maxima has recognized the needs of its customers and with their offer provided what consumers are looking for today - quality, price, value for money, and safe shopping. We believe that Maxima will continue to strive for excellence to justify the trust and expectations of customers and it will continue to be a benchmark for an attractive offer – all with the help of the Best Buy Award medal,“  adds ICERTIAS CEO Robert Slavecki.

The Swiss-based International Certification Association’s Best Buy Award reflects the opinion of the public on which brand or business offers the best quality at the best price according to their personal experience with the Latvian market. This survey takes into account consumer experience, opinions, satisfaction and impressions in order to evaluate the product and the relationship between price and quality based on personal experience. The latest survey shows that, during the COVID-19 pandemic, consumers are largely looking for low prices, high quality and a good relationship between price and quality, exactly what categorises the Best Buy Award.

Businesses are evaluated using the Deep Mind Awareness (DEEPMA) research method, during which a survey is used to collect people’s opinions on their experience and satisfaction with the product they receive, and its price to quality ratio in retail.

The Best Buy Award is awarded in accordance with the international regulations on market and social research set by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and the European Society for Opinion and Marketing Research (ESOMAR). The latest Latvian survey was undertaken in March 2021, with respondents aged above 17. A total of 1,200 respondents took part, and they answered open questions without answer options. Participants were freely able to indicate the manufacturers and service providers they believed to have the best price and quality relationship according to their experience in the market.

A range of leading businesses have won a Best Buy Award, including Nestle, Vodafone, Milka, Danone, Arial, Hyundai, Orkla, Keune and others. The results of ICERTIAS’ market research are regularly quoted by the world’s leading media: Bloomberg, CBS, NBC, Fox, The Wall Street Journal, Yahoo News and others.
